THE VALUE

Community is your competitive advantage

Most sustainability leaders carry the agenda alone. The weight of it is real, and most of the time there's nobody nearby who gets it. Leafr Leaders is where that changes.

Who's behind Leafr Leaders

Built by people who live this work

Through Leafr, we've spoken with thousands of sustainability leaders at some of the worlds most recognised organisations. And every year, our True State of Sustainability report gave us a window into how those leaders actually felt: not just what they were working on, but what they were struggling with. The same things kept coming up. We've seen what separates the leaders who move fast from those who stall. Almost always, it comes down to one thing: who they have around them. We built Leafr Leaders so they could finally find each other. Nick Valenzia and Gus Bartholomew, Co-Founders, Leafr

FAQS

The things people usually ask

Who is Leafr Leaders for?
It's for senior, in-house sustainability and ESG leaders — heads of sustainability, ESG and impact, CSOs and equivalent. If you carry the agenda for your organisation, you'll be among peers.

We currently have industry working groups for Consumer, Food and Beverage, and Built Environment.
What exactly is a Canopy and how does it work?
A Canopy is a confidential peer group of six leaders at a similar level, meeting monthly throughout the year. Each session follows a structured format: one member brings a live challenge, the group asks clarifying questions, then shares relevant experience from their own careers. No advice-giving for the sake of it. No one talking book. Just honest, structured peer support from people who understand your context.

We form Canopies periodically for those that are interested in them, as they require careful consideration and training.
Where do I bring my question?
A simple way to think about it: the more sensitive or specific the question, the smaller the room. Canopies for your most confidential challenges. Industry Working Groups for sector-specific questions. The Community Forum for broader questions you want to cast wide.
Is it really confidential?
Yes. We operate under strict confidentiality — no vendors, no audience, no minutes. It's the foundation everything else is built on.
What stops industry working groups becoming a compliance problem?
Good question, and one we've thought carefully about. Every working group operates under a clear participation framework that sets out what kinds of information can and can't be shared. Sessions are designed around professional development and shared challenges, not commercially sensitive information. We take this seriously so you don't have to worry about it.
What is the time commitment?
As much or as little as you like. Most members spend a couple of hours a month — a Canopy meeting, the odd forum post, and an event or call when it suits them.
Is this a corporate membership or a personal one?
Most members join with their company's support, but if that's not available we also welcome you to join as individuals investing in their own development. What matters is that you're here as a leader with something to contribute.
Can this go through my L&D budget?
Yes, and many members do exactly that. Leafr Leaders includes structured courses, expert-led sessions, and peer learning frameworks that map directly to professional development objectives. We can provide documentation to support an internal sign-off conversation if that's helpful.
What does it cost?
Membership is an annual fee, which we'll talk through on your intro call once we know it's a fit. The perks, discounts and 0% commission consultant network are designed to more than cover it.
How do I join?
Request an invite, have a short conversation with us about fit, and if it's a match you're welcomed in. We're highly selective, and only open the door periodically.
